The brightest stars shine in the darkest skies.
As a child volunteering in animal shelters, I believed I could save every life, one rescue at a time. During Covid, when life hit, it made me realise that no matter what I do, I won’t be able to save/ rescue them all.
Hope arrived through a simple social media post about a rescue that received overwhelming support. That moment sparked a powerful idea: one hour of kindness a day can change the world.
Mouli Mehrotra, is the kid in this story. A visual artist by profession and a social reformer by soul. Working for animals since childhood, made her clear that she would want to make a difference in their life someday.
Her journey evolved into building an organisation focused on long-term impact. In 2022, she was selected as an Ahimsa Fellow, working for on-ground implementation of animal protection laws. Since then, she has led initiatives at the Kind Hour Foundation, blending advocacy and art to drive animal welfare through workshops, community engagement, and education, planting seeds of kindness that grow into forests of compassion.
In 2024, she earned a Master’s in Animal Protection Law from NALSAR, Hyderabad.
Despite witnessing the widening gap between humans and animals, Mouli remains a relentless optimist, believing that every small effort brings us closer to a compassionate, harmonious coexistence.
